What do the new green plates mean/do?
The distinctive green stripe down the number plate will help authorities identify 100% Electric Vehicles, making it easier for their drivers to access incentives such as cheaper parking and exemptions from emissions charges.
The green stripe will raise awareness for electric cars and show “a greener transport future is within our grasp” as part of the Government’s initiative for a zero-emission future.
Uber have pledged that all their cars will be electric by 2025, and have set up the Uber Clean Air Plan to help their drivers upgrade to a 100% Electric Vehicle.
